I haven't heard anything, but here's my thinking:
I think it highly unlikely that the car will be initially classed in AS. Even if it is a good fit for performance, I don't see any way it can start there. Lotus has a reputation for delivering more than the numbers would indicate and the SEB will likely reflect that in their decision. There are a lot of cheap choices in AS... why class something totally new, difficult to obtain, and presumably pricey in the class and risk scaring off the C5 non-Z06 owners that AS is trying to attract? SS with the (ever present) option to re-evaluate during the first calendar year based on performance.
